A crossroads in Provence

Located on the northeastern end of the Luberon in Alpes de Haute Provence, Forcalquier has all of the charm and character of the medieval villages typical of the region, complete with fields of lavender and sunflowers. But Forcalquier is more than just another village that plays the host in the summer and goes to sleep for the colder seasons- because of a strange and wonderful alchemy of artists and musicians, locals and expatriates, cultivators and producers, it has become a little cultural capital for the region. Whether you’re looking for an art exhibit, a charming restaurant, a concert, or a hike through the beautiful country, there’s no shortage of distractions within walking distance. A lazy day reading in a café is also right around the corner.

La Maison des Chapitres is located in the heart of the medieval old town, less than 5 minutes walk from everything the town has to offer. The house also boasts a sizeable art library, a concert hall and an atelier and exhibition space, where we regularly host musical events and artist residency programs. Our rooftop summer garden invites the guests to mingle with a view of the alps and being in the Luberon, a short drive will bring you to breathtaking countrysides, charming bistrots, medieval abbeys, swimming holes, and countless vineyards and farms.

There’s an energy about this place to keep you going and stimulate you, while also inviting you to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures they do here so well. Come and see for yourself!
